What to do before dental surgery

Before an operation, it is important to be well rested, eat a healthy diet and take any prescribed medication as directed.

Smoking and alcohol are not permitted: you must stop smoking at least seven days before the procedure, and the same applies to alcohol. In some cases, you may need to stop smoking and drinking alcohol several months in advance.

Instructions after surgery

For the first few days after dental surgery, you will need to eat foods that are lukewarm or cold and soft in texture.

Do not chew on the affected area or forcefully spit liquid from your mouth. When brushing your teeth, avoid the operated area for 48 hours.
